SiriOm Singh is an abstract impressionist. He Paints mainly in acrylic and collage, utilizing special layering technique, primarily with a pallet knife. SiriOm's landscapes and seascapes are painted on location, recreated in the studio, or from his imagination.
His abstract paintings reflect his experience as an African American man in the US, his opinion on past and current events and on our connection with our environment.
SiriOm's painting includes square collage pieces of different images or materials. He calls these squares "windows of opportunity". He wants to remind the viewer that opportunities that come into our lives may be overlooked because of their small size, but when we recognize them and go through that window of opportunity, it may be a life changing experience.
SiriOm's art has been on display in various galleries and museums, among them NJ State Museum, Ellarslie - the Trenton City museum, The Gallery at Mercer County Community College, Da Vinci Art Alliance, and is part of many private collections.
Ayala Shimelman is a fiber artist. She creates fiber collages using threads, fabrics and other materials such as metal shavings, ropes, plastic sheets and seaweed as an alternative to a paint brush.
